Colors, Moods and SPACES!!

How to create the ‘right’ mood for your interior!  RSVP Design Services will give you some tips to start and discover how color plays with your emotions, and how to manipulate color to your — and your interior’s — advantage. First of all, I will advise you to look through interior design magazines, cut out & collect any ideas for interior paint color combinations that appeal to you. Which one energizes you? or reminds you of good things, or makes you hungry, or helps you to relax…  In summary, ask yourself ‘how do I want to feel in this space (of course it depends on the role the space plays in your life!!)? As an Interior Designer, these are pretty much the first questions we ask, once we know the answers, we can start using color to support it!

It is good to keep in mind that colors can help you bring not just warmth, or a welcome feeling, RSVP Design Services believe strongly that they can also bring vigor and drama!!

BLUE represents security, peace, loyalty and calm… Blues are amongst the most relaxing of colors, reminding viewers of summer skies and ocean water. Blues tend as well to create a very laid back and relaxing mood. They are very cool and easy on the eyes, making them ideal for bedrooms, bathrooms, and dens, we can consider blue a business color because it reflects reliability.

GREEN, one of the most often cited favorite colors.  It represents nature, environment, health, good luck, renewal, youth, vigor and fertility…This color is very easy on the eyes and calming, which makes it a favorite for bedrooms and bathrooms as well, and a popular choice for living spaces and dining rooms.

RED is the color that we pay the most attention to. It is bright and vibrant and is the warmest and most energic color in the spectrum. It is easy to associate with love, valentines, desire, speed, strength. Psychologists tell us red can have an intense affect on mood, and can actually stimulate the pulse and quicken breathing. It is best used in rooms where activity is common. As designers, we use it as a perfect color for an accent wall to add “punch” to a room while not overwhelming the viewer.

YELLOW represents joy, happiness, optimism, idealism, imagination, hope, sunshine, summer, gold, philosophy, spirtuality and inspiration!

ORANGE is a combination of yellow and red. Orange is considered a warm color like red, but to a lesser extent; orange expresses energy. It has luminous qualities. It symbolizes balance, warmth, enthusiasm, vibrance, flamboyancy.

PURPLE represents royalty, spirituality, nobility, ceremony, mystery, and transformation. Purple is considered an exotic color. It is a very intense color, suggesting femininity and royalty. It is easy on the eyes and yet rather overwhelming when overdone. The color purple rarely appears in nature, so overuse of this color can appear artificial.
So, ready to paint???!!!
