RSVP’s Inspiring Resources

As a registered Interior Designer, there are certain resources that RSVP has available when looking for the perfect item for a client.  We usually set aside one day every week to meet with reps from our favorite vendors or even new vendors we haven’t worked with before.  This way, we keep ourselves informed of all the knew and great fabrics, furniture, accessories, light fixtures, etc. available out there for our clients.  We get to see a lot of really cool stuff!  In most cases, we also get less than retail pricing so we save our clients moolah!  Here is a little glimpse of things we have had the chance to see and be a part of lately.  Enjoy!

1. Last week we met with Paul from Robert Allen/Beacon Hill.  Here’s a glimpse at some of the new fabric books:

Black & White

We LOVED this one!

This one would be gorgeous as a tufted wall upholstery.

This geometric is very masculine and would be great as draperies.

Animal Skins

We all ready have plans for this emerald cheetah print.

These are very organic zebra prints.  Love the color combos.

Purple snake?  I think so! Fun!!

Modern Silks

Instantly reminded us of mermaids.  Color is gorgeous, especially in person.

There are several color ways for this one.  All have their own character.

Outdoor

These outdoor fabrics don’t feel like outdoor fabrics.  They have a wonderfully soft hand.

We usually don’t gravitate towards ikats but this one is a little more abstract in person.

2.  Another one of our fabulous contacts is Paloma Creations, located close to the Dallas Design District.  We have collaborated with Josey and her team on several pieces for our clients.  They have turned out fabulously and with impeccable craftsmanship.  It is so rewarding to see things come to life from a sketch!  With this process, clients get good, quality pieces that are exactly to their needs, and they last!  We are in the process of getting professional photos but in the meantime here are some of our iPhone photos so you get the idea.

This is a process pic of a custom king size bed we designed for a client recently.  The finished product has plum silk upholster and silver nail heads for the tufting.  Gorgeous!  Because the shop is here locally, we can stop by whenever and check on the progress which is a great luxury to have.

This is a custom blue velvet bench for a client’s dining room table.  The client is pretty tall so we went the custom route to accommodate a deeper seat.

This is a storage bench we designed for the client’s game room.  They had a wasted niche and needed more storage so this was the perfect solution.  The silver and black circle fabric is gorgeous and the silver nailheads give it a little glam.

3. RSVP has been asked to be the first design firm to design a vignette in the Pettigrew & Associates luxury Dallas showroom!  We are very excited and all ready have tons of ideas.  It all began with a collaboration between Pettigrew and RSVP on an industrial floor lamp and now, has turned into a whole design space.  We plan on using the floor lamp, along with other custom designed pieces, and Pettigrew products emphasizing a variety of textures to fill the room.  It will be very unexpected because of the combination of traditional furniture frames and transitional/contemporary finishes.  And, of course, we have to incorporate found and reused materials! The vignette will be unveiled late April.

To give you a little sneak peak….

Also, one of our projects made the March cover for Texas Home & Living!  Grab a copy if you can.  There’s a feature article inside about the project and more pics!
